Event Details

The September meeting of the Genealogical Society of Rockland County will be online and presented via Zoom. We'll be watching a pre-recorded video from the New Netherland Institute "Uncovering America's Forgotten Colony" on the Dutch settling of Manhattan and the primary source documents in Albany that reveal this history. Throughout the documentary, we'll hear from Dr. Charles Gehring, translator of thousands of pages of old Dutch, and how research at the New Netherland Institute has corrected misconceptions about New York's Dutch past. Non-members are always welcome to attend!
