We'll be discussing Henry Ossian Flipper's experiences as a Black cadet at West Point as recorded in his autobiography The Colored Cadet of West Point. The already rigorous demands of cadet life at West Point are even harder for Flipper, who experiences racism and ostracism at West Point shortly after the Civil War.
