This program will take place at the library. Masks are recommended.

For almost 200 years, this small barrier spit land played a significant role in the protection of New York Harbor from its discovery by Henry Hudson through the Cold War era. The oldest standing lighthouse in the United States, a military weapons testing site, a top-secret Nike missile site, and today, part of the National Gateway Recreation Area. It’s all here and this slide presentation with its photos, WWII era music, and videos will bring it all to life. Guaranteed to make you feel you are there.
