Remembering 1962

This program will take place at the library. Masks are recommended. Current CDC guidelines advise that everyone wears masks inside public buildings.  

What a year! The Cold War got hot in a hurry with the Cuban Missile Crisis in October. Nelson Mandela was jailed in the South Africa civil rights demonstrations against apartheid while the Civil Rights Movement continued in the United States. The United States involved in Vietnam was growing, colonialism was ending in Africa. Marilyn Monroe died and the Beatles failed the audition! Remember and learn new things about a year nearly sixty years in the past.
