Online Chronicles Book Club

We'll be discussing Carol Goodman's novel The Widow's House, it's available as an e-book on Hoopla.

Set in the Hudson River Valley, this book features a literary married couple, Clare and Jess Martin. They have left their Brooklyn life for life in the country. When they realize they cannot afford an older home with character, they agree to be caretakers of a haunted gothic mansion owned by their college writing teacher. Once moved in, Claire begins to hear a baby crying and sees a woman on the grounds, inspiring her to research the history of the house and its occupants. The information uncovered brings secrets to light that could prove dangerous for Clare and her old teacher.
