New York is the most powerful city on Earth. It is also one of the most vulnerable cities in the world. During World War II, New York City was a target for Hitler. More than 800,000 New Yorkers served in the Armed Forces. This lecture will touch on the German American Bun, the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary troopships, the Manhattan Project, Stage Door Canteen, Rosie the Riveter, Camp Shanks and more.
