Make a Big Splash: David Hockney

Dive into the extraordinary career of David Hockney, one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century. We will explore over 60 years of his career in 60 minutes. He is perhaps best known for his iconic paintings of LA swimming pools. We will also take a look at his more intimate  portraits of friends, lovers and family.  Aside from his countryside landscapes and cubist inspired works we will also examine his photographic collages and full-scale opera stagings   Hockney embraced technology throughout his career, we will examine some of his iPad drawings. Even at the ripe age of 83 he still maintains a serious studio practice. We will wrap up the lecture by looking at h his most recent works in Normandy, France.
