Luis Moses Gomez, a Jewish refugee, purchased land in the early 1700s in Marlboro, New York, where he took on the intermediary role between local residents and the expanding trade market. Historian Alex Prizgintas uses Gomez’s positions as a businessman and landowner to view the socioeconomic and cultural advancements that took place in the Hudson Valley.
