Hikes & History: Baileytown

Baileytown, once a thriving hamlet near Twin Lakes, Orange County, NY, in Harriman State Park was a family enclave begun by Jacob Bailey in the mid-19th century. The little community was wiped from the map in the 1930s by the Palisades Park Commission. The hike will take us on Baileytown Rd to the former hamlet and family cemetery.
