Event Details

Harry Belafonte was one of the most important and influential leaders of the civil rights movement. In early 1968, Johnny Carson turned over the Tonight Show to Harry Belafonte for an entire week! The “sit-in” as it was called, featured Belafonte interviewing guests including Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King! You’ll find out that Harry Belafonte was one of Martin Luther King’s closest friends and most trusted advisers, deeply involved in the civil rights movement at every turn.
