Genealogical Society of Rockland County meeting. Non-members always welcome to attend!
We'll be watching a presentation from writer and podcaster Michael T. Keene Abandoned: The Untold Story of the Orphan Trains. From around the time of the Civil War through the 1920s hundreds of thousands of poor and homeless children were brought from crowded cities like New York to west to join families all around the country by train. We'll learn about how the Orphan Trains and the institutions that supported them helped shape the country. This will be an online program presented via Zoom, receive a Zoom link upon registration.
