Preserving Scrapbooks and Photo Albums
Presented by the Genealogical Society of Rockland County and the New City Library. All are welcome, you don't need to be a member of the Genealogical Society to attend! This will be an online program presented via Zoom. Please register to receive a Zoom link.
Everyone has a cherished old album or scrapbook that we either put together ourselves or has been passed down to us from a family member. However, old bindings, self adhesive pages, and certain kinds of plastic coverings don't age as well as the photos and momentos we keep inside them. This month we'll be watching a pre-recorded session from the National Archives on preserving photo albums and scrapbooks, so they can be enjoyed for generations to come. From simple repairs we can do ourselves, to complex digital preservation, this presentation will go over the many ways we can maintain our albums and family memories.
We'll cover some brief genealogical society business prior to the program.
