Program Description

Event Details

1965 was a year of substantial change in America. President Lyndon Johnson introduced his plan, “The Great Society” and some of that plan remains today in the form of Medicare and Medicaid. There were demonstrations in the streets that might have led to the Voting Rights Act of 1965. American involvement in Vietnam was escalating.  The Cold War continued.
